// frankston and the bay's south-east

Web design in Frankston for trades from Seaford to Langwarrin, built remotely from Perth.

Frankston is a city of trades. About one in six employed residents worked as a technician or tradesperson at the last Census, well above the national share, so a Frankston tradie's website is up against plenty of others doing the same job a few streets away. Every site is scoped, written and built by Josh in Perth, by phone, video call and email. Website builds cost A$500 to A$1,000; see pricing.

The Victorian Government’s council profile puts Frankston City on the eastern shore of Port Phillip Bay, about 40 kilometres south of the Melbourne CBD. Besides Frankston itself it takes in Carrum Downs, Seaford, Frankston North, Frankston South, Karingal, Langwarrin, Langwarrin South, Sandhurst and Skye, and the council’s economic scorecard counts six industrial areas among them: Carrum Downs, Seaford North, Seaford, Frankston, Frankston East and Langwarrin. A lot of the trade businesses this page is written for work out of a unit or a yard in one of those areas and drive out across the bay suburbs from there.

Construction is one of the five major industry sectors the same council profile lists by number of businesses, alongside property and business services, retail, personal services and manufacturing, and the scorecard says most of the city’s business community is small and medium enterprises. In practice a homeowner in Frankston South looking for a plumber, an electrician or a concreter has a long list of local businesses to choose from. The one whose page names the job and the suburb is easier to pick than the one with a single page that says it services Melbourne.

Two kinds of search reach a Frankston trade. A homeowner types the job and the suburb, often on a phone and often in a hurry. A business in one of the industrial areas types the service it needs for its premises. A site that answers both needs separate pages: residential work written for the houses in Karingal and Langwarrin, and commercial work written for the units in Carrum Downs and Seaford.

The city centre is changing too. The council describes Frankston as designated by the Victorian Government as a major Metropolitan Activity Centre, and it is one of the state’s ten pilot activity centres, where the government is encouraging more new homes close to trains, jobs and services. New apartments and townhouses bring strata work and maintenance contracts, and a body corporate manager is a different customer with a different search from a homeowner’s.

Trade pages for Frankston businesses

/ A Kovus build in Melbourne

A Melbourne plumber with a page for each suburb it works in.

AquaCore Plumbing homepage: The half of your house you never see, beside a drawing of the water, gas and sewer lines
AquaCore Plumbing's website. The business is registered in Dallas, in Melbourne's north, and works across Melbourne and the north-western suburbs. AquaCore Plumbing, Melbourne, VIC: about 55 km from Frankston in a straight line.

AquaCore Plumbing is a Melbourne plumbing company registered in Dallas, in the city's north. Before the build it took bookings only through Instagram direct messages, with no website, no Google Business Profile and no published phone number or email.

What shipped is a 43-page site at aquacore-plumbing.com.au: eight service pages split by job, from drainage and sewer to gas fitting and backflow prevention, 22 suburb pages and five guides. Six of the suburb pages show a completed job linked to the original Instagram post. The other sixteen say plainly that no job is tagged there yet, so no page claims work that was not done.

One of those suburb pages is Brighton Beach, up the bay from Frankston, where the job record shows a drainage renovation with the existing drain repositioned and re-graded. That is how a Frankston trade site would be built too: a page for each suburb you genuinely work in, with real jobs on it where you have them.

How a Frankston build runs when the builder is in Perth.

A Frankston trade is on the tools early and does the paperwork at night. Perth is two or three hours behind, so a call at 5pm in Frankston lands at 2pm or 3pm in Perth, and the scope call does not have to come out of a working day. What the build needs from you is an hour on the phone, photos of real jobs, your registration or licence details and the suburbs you actually work in.

  1. 01

A call first, by phone or video

We talk through what the business does, the jobs you want more of and where they come from. On-site meetings are only offered around Perth, so for a business in Frankston the whole build runs by phone, video call and email.

  2. 02

A written quote before anything starts

Every page, integration and launch check is listed in the accepted quote, with the price, before the build starts. Only the work the accepted quote lists is included.

  3. 03

Built in Perth, checked on your phone

I write and build the site myself in Perth. You review it on a preview address, on your own phone and computer, and send changes by email or on a call.

  4. 04

Live on your domain, and yours

The site goes live on your own domain. You own the website, content, domain and source code. A typical build takes about four weeks from kickoff to launch.

Perth hours, in Frankston time

Josh works Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm in Perth (AWST). Western Australia has no daylight saving, so the gap is two hours for half the year and three for the other half.

April to October8am to 6pm10am to 8pm (AEST)

Daylight saving in NSW, Victoria and Tasmania runs from the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April (NSW Government). A call after knock-off at 5pm on the east coast is 2pm or 3pm in Perth, depending on the season, so it lands in the middle of the working day.

What a Frankston website costs, and what the monthly plans can do from Perth.

The prices are the same as for a business in Perth, with nothing added for distance, because the whole build runs by phone, video call and email. A standard build is A$500 to A$1,000 and a Premium build for a bigger site starts at A$1,000.

The SEO plan, from A$197 a month, works on your own Google Business Profile, Search Console and pages, and none of that depends on where Kovus sits. What it cannot do is put a Frankston business into the map results for Seaford or Langwarrin by working harder from Perth: Google weighs how close a business is to the person searching, and Google decides the map. The plan keeps your listing complete and active and works on the suburb pages that compete in the organic results under the map.

Questions from owners in Frankston and the bay suburbs.

Kovus is in Perth. Why would a Frankston business use it?
Because a website does not need a site visit, and the price is the same as it is in Perth: A$500 to A$1,000 for a standard build, quoted in writing. You deal with one person, who scopes, writes and builds the site, rather than an account manager, and the written quote lists every page before any work starts.
Can one site cover Frankston, Carrum Downs and Langwarrin?
Yes, if each suburb page says something the others cannot. Carrum Downs holds one of the city's six industrial areas, so a page there might lead with work for businesses in their units, while a Frankston South page leads with houses. Where a suburb has no real work behind it yet, it belongs in the service area list rather than on a page of its own.
How do we meet if you are in Perth?
By phone or video. On-site meetings are offered around Perth only, so a Frankston build starts with a phone or video call, then a written quote, a preview address to check the site on your own phone, and email in between. Josh works 8am to 6pm Perth time, which is 10am to 8pm in Frankston, or 11am to 9pm during daylight saving.
What should go on a Frankston trade's suburb pages?
The work you have done in that suburb, with real photos, and what is different about working there: the age of the houses, the access, how far it is from your yard and how often you are in the area. The AquaCore build follows that pattern, with service pages split by job, suburb pages that only claim the work done there, and the ABN on every page. Those details are what a customer checks before they ring.
How much does web design in Frankston cost?
A standard build costs A$500 to A$1,000, quoted in writing for the pages and integrations the business needs. A Premium build, for a bigger site built to a higher finish, starts at A$1,000. Ongoing work is optional: A$97 a month covers hosting, security, backups and unlimited edits, and from A$197 a month adds SEO and Google Business Profile work.
Who owns the website, and is there a contract?
The client owns the website, content, domain and source code from launch. The monthly plans are month to month with no minimum term, and cancelling takes effect at the end of the current paid month.
Will the site rank on Google?
No quote includes a ranking, because Google decides that. The build covers the pages, structured data and mobile speed that search engines read. The SEO plan then works on the Business Profile, Search Console, directory listings and review requests each month, with a report on what changed.
