/ The 90-second window · why Kovus exists

Local-service businesses are losing leads before they even pick up the phone.

A homeowner has about 90 seconds. From the moment they type "pool service near me" or "render quote Perth", the whole comparison happens on a phone with four tabs open, before they make a single call. Most local businesses lose that window before it starts. Kovus is the system built to win it.

/ What Kovus actually is

A productised growth system
for local-service businesses.

Five layers running at once: local SEO, conversion stack, AI search visibility, content engine, and tracking. Installed in a productised one-off build, then maintained month-to-month. Yours from day one. The website is the front door. The value is everything sitting behind it.

/ 01

Sell the same thing to everyone.

Every Kovus client gets the same five systems. Same Astro stack, same GBP rhythm, same monthly report. The only thing that changes is the suburbs, the photos, and the brand colours. Trying to do something bespoke for every client is how agencies stall out. Doing the same thing well, repeatedly, is how it scales.

/ 02

Built once. Yours to keep.

Two products. A productised one-off build, then a month-to-month retainer. The build delivers the asset. The retainer keeps it ranking, fast, and secure. An unmaintained website starts decaying inside 90 days, so the retainer isn't optional once you're actually relying on the channel.

/ 03

Owned by the client, not me.

You pay for the build up-front and own the domain, the codebase, the GBP, the reviews, all of it. I hand the repo over on request. If you cancel the retainer the site stays live. The monitoring, the GBP posts, the automations, and the ongoing content stop. There's no platform lock-in, ever.

/ 04

Specialist, not generalist.

I only build for two trades. Pool service and render. The patterns, the suburb logic, the seasonal content, the AU compliance pages, I've shipped this stack across multiple Australian operators already. A generalist guesses. Someone who's shipped this exact stack fifteen times over doesn't.

/ 05

Plain English. No jargon.

Monthly reports read like notes from a mate, not a marketing dashboard. Calls in, leads booked, jobs won, reviews collected, AI-mention check. No "engagement metrics" or "domain authority percentile". Numbers that mean something to your bank account.

/ Side by side

How Kovus is different.

Most agencies sell websites. Kovus sells the system that runs around them. Roughly the same starting cost. A very different outcome.

Layer Most agencies Kovus
· Custom build per client Same five systems, installed on every site
· Hands you a website plus invoice Installs systems and maintains them monthly
· Optimises for organic Google rank only Optimises for Map Pack, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity
· 12-month contracts, you own nothing One-off build, month-to-month retainer, you own everything
· Dashboard you never log into Monthly PDF report you actually read
· Big monthly retainers, locked in One-off build plus a month-to-month retainer, quoted to you
· Builds for any trade, surface knowledge Pool service and render only, deep specialisation

/ Why one system fits both

Pool crews and render crews share more than they differ.

A pool tech and a render crew look like different businesses. Where it counts, they're not. Both live or die on the same three things: showing up in local search, converting a phone visitor inside a minute, and looking trustworthy enough to call. The framework is identical. Only the suburbs and the photos change. That's what makes a productised system work. The same five layers, set up per client, with the same monthly delivery rhythm.

/ The human behind it

Built solo. By design.

Josh

Owner / builder · Perth, Western Australia

Solo operator out of Perth. I build every Kovus site myself. Shipped 15+ trade and service-business sites before Kovus existed as a brand.

Solo means the person who designed the system is the same person who builds your site. No subcontractors, no juniors, no offshoring. The trade-off is capacity. Kovus tops out at around 30 active clients before a second hire makes sense. The upside is that nothing gets lost in a handoff, because there isn't one.

/ The next step

Want to see the system in your business?

Half an hour on the phone. I run your current site through the framework and tell you what's costing you calls. Not a pitch. If you want one after, ask. Same audit I run on every site I build.
