// seo for roofers · from A$197 a month

SEO for roofers, from tonight's leak to the re-roof quote.

A leak in a storm is searched on a phone and ends in a call. A re-roof is a five-figure buy compared over weeks. The A$197 monthly plan covers the work behind both: the Google Business Profile, Search Console, the repair, re-roof and area pages, and a monthly report.

/ How roofing is searched

What does SEO for roofers involve?

Roofing work is searched four ways, from a leak in a storm to a re-roof compared for weeks. SEO for roofers is the monthly work behind each one: a Business Profile ready for the leak call, separate pages for repairs, restoration and re-roofs, a portfolio of your own roofs, and proof an owner can check before asking for a quote.

A roof leaking in the rain gets a phone call within minutes; a re-roof gets weeks of reading. That difference decides where each search is answered, and where the work goes each month.

  • Right now

    Storm damage and leaks

    emergency roof leak repair

    Where it is answered
The map results at the top of a local search, on a phone, often while it is still raining. The Google Business Profile does the talking: hours, service areas and whether the profile looks looked after.
    The monthly work
Hours and service areas kept current, leak and storm work listed as services only where you take it, and posts with photos from recent jobs.
  • This week

    Tile repairs and ridge capping

    ridge capping repair + suburb

    Where it is answered
Both the map results and the web results. Owners search the part that failed, such as ridge capping, a valley or a broken tile.
    The monthly work
A page for each repair on the name owners use, and a suburb page where there is real work and photos to show there.
  • Compared for weeks

    Re-roofs and restoration

    tile to COLORBOND cost perth

    Where it is answered
The web results. A re-roof is a five-figure buy priced per square or per m2. Restoration is a separate search about rebedding, repointing and resealing.
    The monthly work
Separate re-roof and restoration pages with clean titles and structured data, checked in Search Console for the searches that reach each one.
  • On a programme

    New builds and cladding

    architectural cladding + city

    Where it is answered
The web results, read by a builder or an architect who checks the portfolio before the price.
    The monthly work
A cladding page of its own and a portfolio of named jobs by suburb, updated from new jobs.

Why a roofing site splits these jobs onto separate pages is covered on the websites for roofers page, and shown on two live sites in the roofing website design examples.

/ The Google Business Profile

How does a roofer show up on Google Maps?

Through a Google Business Profile. A roofer works on the customer's roof, so a service-area profile with the address hidden is the normal setup, and no yard or shopfront is needed. The business remains the verified owner, with Josh added as a manager. The leak call starts on the profile, and the portfolio is what closes it.

Setting the profile up from scratch is covered step by step in the Google Business Profile guide. The rest of the monthly work is on the SEO plan page.

  • Leak and storm work only where you take it

Leak repairs and storm call-outs go on the profile, with hours to match, only when the crew takes those calls. Work the business does not do stays off it.

  • Repairs named the way owners search

Ridge capping, valleys, broken tiles, restoration and re-roofs listed as separate services, each pointing at its own page, instead of one entry that says roofing.

  • Photos of your own roofs

Drone shots and finished roofs from real jobs, captioned with the suburb and the tile or COLORBOND profile, posted when there is a finished job to show.

  • Reviews asked for, never bought

McDonald Roofing Company had no public Google reviews when its site launched. Reviews are asked for with a link or QR code after a finished job, never paid for or incentivised.

  • Service areas that match the area pages

Up to 20 service areas by suburb or postcode, matched to the area pages that have real jobs behind them. Google does not accept a radius.

  • Profile activity in the report

Business Profile numbers, such as calls and website clicks, go into the monthly report next to quote requests and Search Console, so a wet week shows up in the figures.

/ Month one to month three

What happens in the first 90 days of SEO for a roofer?

The plan runs in four stages a month, so the first 90 days are three passes through them. The first pass records where the roofing site and the profile stand, and the next two build on it with finished roofs. It is a work order, with no ranking date attached and no fixed term to sign.

  1. Before it starts

A written quote and manager access

The scope for the month is confirmed in writing first. Then you add Josh to the Google Business Profile as a manager, and the business remains the verified owner. For a roofing site built elsewhere, you also give editor access to that platform, and the site stays with its host.

  2. Month 1 · Stage 1

Checked: where the roofing site stands today

Which pages Google has picked up, page errors, page speed, the mobile layout, titles, structured data and internal links on the site. Beyond it, Maps positions across the suburbs you cover and how the business details read on other sites. The searches already reaching the leak, repair, restoration and re-roof pages are recorded as the starting line.

  3. Month 1 · Stage 2

Fixed and updated: repair pages and the portfolio

Whatever the checks found is fixed in Search Console and on the site. Repairs are named the way owners search them, restoration and re-roofs are kept on separate pages, and the portfolio takes photos from roofs you have finished.

  4. Month 1 · Stage 3

Kept current: the profile and the places owners check

Leak and storm work goes on the profile only where the crew takes it, with hours to match. Bing Places, Hotfrog and Localsearch are brought into line with the site, and a review link or QR code is ready to hand over after each finished roof.

  5. Month 1 · Stage 4

Reported: the month in plain English

Calls, quote requests, Google Analytics, Search Console and Business Profile figures in a single report, next to a list of what was done and what is planned for month two.

  6. Months 2 and 3

Two more passes, built on finished roofs

The four stages repeat. New jobs go into the portfolio and the job pages, an area page is added only where there are real roofs and photos to show in that suburb, and every report is read against month one.

Every check in stage one is listed on the SEO plan page.

/ Proof before price

What if a roofing business has no Google reviews?

Then the site has to carry proof of another kind. A re-roof is a five-figure buy compared for weeks, and a careful owner reads the portfolio, the business details and who else trusts the crew before looking at a price. Keeping that proof current is part of the monthly work, and reviews are asked for as jobs finish.

The pages and proof a roofing site needs are shown, with screenshots, in the roofing website design examples.

  • Business details anyone can check

The ABN, the year the business started and the areas it works, the same on the site, the profile and the structured data. McDonald Roofing Company leads with these because it has no review history to lean on.

  • The builders who use the crew

The McDonald site names the custom-home builders the crew works alongside: Giorgi, ORMO Build, Distinctive Homes WA and Imperial Building Services. A builder or an architect weighs that before a star rating.

  • Job stories linked to the original post

Mandurah Roofing Services has eleven job stories drawn from the owner's own posts, each linking back to the Instagram post so the proof can be checked. On the plan, new jobs are added the same way.

  • Prices explained, not invented

The Mandurah Roofing Services pricing page explains why roof repairs are priced per job and lists what to send for a quote, rather than publishing a range nobody has checked.

/ Two roofing builds

How long does SEO take for a roofing company?

There is no set number of weeks. A roofer's starting point, the number of other crews working the same suburbs and Google's own changes all move it. Both roofing builds below started on social media with no website. On the plan, each month's report measures the business against its own starting point.

Here is what each build put in place for an owner comparing roofers.

/ The two monthly plans

How much does SEO for roofers cost?

The SEO plan is priced from A$197 a month and runs month to month, with no lock-in. It covers the profile, portfolio and area page work described here, plus hosting, backups and unlimited edits on a site Kovus built. A roofing website build is a separate A$500 to A$1,000 job. A site built elsewhere can go on the plan too.

A roofing website Kovus built and hosts.

A Kovus-built roofing site stays hosted, backed up and edited on the A$97 plan, and leak calls and re-roof searches sit in the A$197 plan. A bigger business that needs more work each month is quoted in writing before it starts. The SEO plan and pricing pages compare everything.

One published comparison: GoDaddy's Australian website cost article gives A$300 to A$3,500 a month for SEO when it is bought. It is a general market range, not a roofing figure and not a Kovus quote.

Your roofing site was built by someone else?

The A$197 plan is still available for a website Kovus did not build, and works on it all the same: the profile, Search Console and the report. The site stays with its current host, and portfolio or area page changes are made in your platform with editor access you provide. Every account stays in your name.

/ Straight answers

What can't SEO promise a roofing business?

A position on a wet night, an insurance payout or a star rating. Rankings for a roofing search are Google's call, an insurer decides a claim, and customers decide what they write. The plan does the work, and the monthly report shows where the business sits and what changed.

  • Storm-season rankings

Google decides which roofers show for a leak search on a wet night. The report shows where the profile and pages appeared, and what changed.

  • An insurance outcome

A storm page explains what to photograph and how you meet the assessor. It never says a claim will be paid.

  • Stars you have not earned

No paid, incentivised or made-up reviews. Reviews come from real customers, asked after each finished roof, and the site leans on proof that can be checked.

  • A licence that does not exist

No page claims a licence the business does not hold, or one the work does not need.

  • AI recommendations

Whether an AI tool suggests a roofer is up to each platform. It is checked in the report, not promised.

Your roof photos, project pages and area pages stay with the roofing business if the plan stops. The client owns the website, content, domain and source code. Optional ongoing services are month-to-month with no minimum term. The client may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current paid month.

Questions about SEO for roofers.

How much does SEO for a roofer cost?
The SEO plan starts at A$197 a month. When Kovus built the site, hosting, a security and performance pass, uptime monitoring, verified backups and unlimited edits come with it. A bigger business that needs more work each month is quoted in writing before it starts. The plan runs month to month, and a roofing website build is a separate quote of A$500 to A$1,000.
What does SEO for roofers involve each month?
The profile, the repair, restoration and re-roof pages, the portfolio and the area pages are checked. Fixes are made, and the portfolio and job pages are updated from finished roofs. The report sets calls, quote requests, Google Analytics, Search Console and Business Profile numbers side by side in plain English.
Do re-roofs and roof restoration need separate pages?
Yes. A metal re-roof is a per-square or per-m2 buy with named profiles and colours. Restoration is rebedding, repointing and resealing, and whether the existing tile will take it. On one roofing services page, a restoration search looks like a full re-roof.
Do I need a yard or a shopfront for my roofing business to show on Google Maps?
No. Roofers work on the customer's roof, so a service-area profile with the address hidden is the normal setup. Up to 20 service areas can be set by city, postcode or other area, and Google does not accept a radius.
Will you show my licences and asbestos ticket?
Only credentials you hold and that can be checked. A class B asbestos ticket is shown where that work is in scope. Where there is no licence number to show, the site leads with the ABN, the builders you work with and the workmanship, as the McDonald Roofing Company site does, and no page invents one.
What if I have no Google reviews yet?
Then the site leads with proof that can be checked, the way McDonald Roofing Company's does: the ABN, the founding year, the builders the crew works with and a portfolio of its own roofs. Reviews are asked for after each finished job and never bought.
Should storm and insurance work have its own page?
Only if you take it. A storm page explains what to photograph, what like-for-like means and how you meet the assessor, without promising a payout. If insurance work is out of scope, the site says so and sends leak repairs and re-roofs to their own pages.
How soon will SEO make a difference for a roofing business?
There is no fixed date. It turns on the starting point, how many roofers cover the same suburbs and what the search platforms do. Each report sets the month against your own baseline, so progress is measured rather than promised.
