Three ways to check a food.
Pick the input that matches what is in front of you. A model may name the food. Fixed rules still judge it.

The barcode is matched through Open Pet Food Facts, then the returned ingredients are checked for the selected pet.
Name what is in view.
An optional photo check identifies the food, strips photo metadata before processing, then applies the same cautious toxin rules.
A verdict should explain its limits.
Snacco never displays the word “safe”. A result describes only what the app could identify and match.

Designed to know less about you.
Snacco has no account, name, email, location tracking, advertising identifier or analytics tracking. The only third-party SDK is crash reporting, which never receives your scans or photos. Abuse throttles use a short-lived keyed hash, not a stored raw IP.

What can Snacco check?
Snacco can read an ingredients label, look up a pet-food barcode through Open Pet Food Facts, or identify a photographed food through the optional Snacco+ photo check. The result is checked against dog- or cat-specific toxin rules.
Does “no toxins detected” mean a food is safe?
No. It means nothing Snacco could read matched a known toxin in its database. Labels and databases can be incomplete, so Snacco deliberately avoids calling a food safe.
Does Snacco replace a veterinarian?
No. Snacco is an informational check, not veterinary advice or a medical device. For suspected poisoning, contact a veterinarian or the Animal Poisons Helpline immediately.
What Snacco data stays on the iPhone?
Pet profiles, scan history, favourites, recall matching and preferences stay on the device. Snacco has no user account, advertising or analytics tracking.
