Clear terms for study and billing.

These terms apply to the NurseLock iOS app published by Josh Waller, trading as Kovus. NurseLock provides NCLEX-RN study practice. It is not clinical guidance.

Study practice only

NurseLock is an iPhone app for NCLEX-RN study. The bundled question set is educational study material. It is not clinical guidance, not medical advice and not a guarantee of exam results. Treat it as study practice only.

Study questions and explanations remain in English, including when you use another language for the app interface.

You are responsible for how you use the app, including which apps you block and how you prepare for an exam. NurseLock does not replace teaching, a course or a qualified educator.

Blocking and the daily drill

You choose apps or app categories to block with Apple Screen Time. Each study day a short drill of NCLEX-style questions is assigned. Completing the drill asks Screen Time to lift the block until the next study-day start. You choose the reset time; the default is 4:00 AM local time. You choose which days are blocking days. Blocking is optional — you can study without Screen Time.

The daily drill and turning on blocking require NurseLock Pro. You can turn blocking off or remove all restrictions at any time from Settings or Help with blocking, with or without an active purchase.

Purchases

NurseLock Pro unlocks the daily drill and Screen Time blocking. Two products are sold through Apple's App Store:

NurseLock Pro Weekly: an auto-renewing weekly subscription at US$4.99 per week, shown in local currency in the app; and
NurseLock Pro Lifetime: a one-time non-consumable purchase at US$24.99.

Both products give the same full access on this device: the daily drill, the complete question set and Screen Time blocking. The weekly subscription is billed weekly until you cancel. The lifetime option is a one-time purchase, yours for good. The app is free to download and shows a sample question before the paywall. Removing NurseLock restrictions never requires an active purchase.

Eligible customers can try the weekly subscription free for 7 days. It then renews at the weekly price shown before purchase until you cancel. The app shows the available offer and current price in your App Store currency before purchase.

Apple processes payment through your Apple ID. The weekly subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it through Apple's subscription settings before the end of the trial or current billing period. Apple controls the exact renewal timing, billing, cancellation and refund process. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. The lifetime purchase does not renew.

Purchases, restore and availability

Use Restore purchases in Settings or on the paywall if an active purchase is not recognised. Make sure the iPhone is signed in to the Apple ID that made the purchase. Access to Pro depends on a valid App Store transaction and RevenueCat entitlement. Removing restrictions through Help with blocking stays available without an active purchase.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the app, attempt to bypass purchase limits, probe or disrupt the app, or use it unlawfully. The question set is for your own study. It does not permit copying, resale or commercial redistribution.

Intellectual property

NurseLock, its question set, copy and software are owned by Kovus or used under licence. Buying or using the app gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use it. It does not transfer ownership or permit copying, resale or commercial redistribution.

Your data

The privacy policy explains local storage, Screen Time selections, purchases, diagnostics and deletion.

Consumer rights and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.

To the extent permitted by law, Kovus is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app. Where liability can lawfully be limited, it is limited to supplying the relevant service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.

Changes and ending use

We may update the app and these terms to improve reliability, meet legal requirements or reflect service changes. You may stop using NurseLock at any time. Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals but does not usually create a refund for the current period. Refund requests are handled by Apple. The lifetime purchase does not need cancelling.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia. Courts with jurisdiction in Western Australia may hear disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer right to bring a claim elsewhere.
