Eligibility and age

DishReveal is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use the app. Onboarding will not build a plan for an age below 18, and the app is rated and marketed accordingly.

Two separate reasons apply. Calorie targets, deficits and weight-loss pacing are not appropriate for children or adolescents without professional supervision. The AI provider that powers photo analysis, text analysis, Coach and weekly reports also requires that services using its API are not directed towards, and are not likely to be accessed by, people under 18.

If you are under 18, do not use DishReveal. Speak with a parent, guardian, doctor or dietitian about nutrition instead.

General wellness only

DishReveal is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition. It does not replace advice from a doctor, dietitian or other qualified health professional.

Nutrition needs vary. Calorie targets, macro targets, photo estimates, barcode records, label recognition, Coach answers, progress projections and weekly reports can be incomplete or wrong. Do not use DishReveal to make a diagnosis, change prescribed treatment or respond to an emergency. Seek qualified care for individual medical or dietary advice.

Your responsibility for entries and estimates

You decide what is saved to your diary. Check food identity, serving size, cooking method, hidden ingredients and nutrition values before relying on an entry. A photograph cannot measure food weight, oil, butter, dressing or recipe composition. Barcode data can be incomplete or outdated because Open Food Facts is a third-party, community-maintained source.

Free features and Pro access

Manual meal logging, barcode lookup and on-device nutrition-label scanning are intended to remain available without a Pro subscription. Free limits for online AI features may apply. Pro access unlocks higher AI limits and other paid features shown in the app.

Features can change as the app is improved, but Kovus will not use a change to conceal subscription pricing or renewal terms.

Auto-renewing subscriptions

DishReveal offers these auto-renewing subscription options on the US App Store:

• Annual Pro: $29.99 per year after a 7-day free trial.
• Weekly Pro: $2.99 per week with no free trial.

The App Store shows the price and currency that apply to your storefront before you confirm. Taxes may apply. If Apple approves or presents a promotional offer, its displayed price and eligibility terms apply to that offer.

The annual trial converts to the annual paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Each subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel before the current period ends. Apple controls the exact billing and renewal timing.

Manage or cancel through Apple ID subscription settings. Deleting the app or your DishReveal account does not cancel a subscription. Refund requests and billing disputes are handled by Apple under App Store rules.

Purchase restoration and availability

Use Restore Purchases if an active subscription is not recognised. Access depends on a valid App Store transaction and RevenueCat entitlement. Online features may be unavailable during maintenance, network interruption, provider limits or a third-party outage. Kovus does not guarantee uninterrupted service.

Acceptable use

You must not:

• break the law or infringe another person's rights through the app;
• submit abusive, dangerous, fraudulent or unlawful material;
• attempt to bypass AI quotas, subscription checks, authentication or security controls;
• probe, scrape, reverse engineer, overload or disrupt the online service, except where applicable law expressly permits it;
• upload malware or content you do not have the right to use; or
• use automated means to make requests or resell access to DishReveal.

Kovus may rate-limit, suspend or end online access where reasonably necessary to protect users, security, service reliability, legal compliance or provider costs.

Your content and privacy

You keep ownership of information and photos you submit. You give Kovus a limited permission to process that material only as needed to provide, secure and operate the feature you requested.

Do not upload content that is unlawful or that exposes another person's private information without authority. The privacy policy explains local storage, temporary uploads, Gemini processing, subscriptions and deletion.

Intellectual property and licence

DishReveal, its software, design, copy and original content are owned by Kovus or used under licence. Subject to these terms and App Store rules, Kovus grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, including devices linked through permitted Family Sharing.

The licence does not transfer ownership. You may not copy, distribute, sell, sublicense or commercially exploit DishReveal except where applicable law expressly allows it.

Apple's role

These terms are between you and Kovus, not Apple. Kovus, not Apple, is responsible for the app, its content, maintenance and support, subject to applicable law. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support.

If the app fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price paid for the app, if any, to the extent required by App Store terms. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for DishReveal.

Kovus, not Apple, is responsible for handling claims about the app, including product-liability, consumer-protection, privacy and intellectual-property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce the terms relating to their role.

You must comply with the App Store terms and any third-party terms that apply to your use of DishReveal.

Consumer guarantees and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

To the extent permitted by law, Kovus is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from the app, an estimate, an online outage or reliance on third-party data. Where liability for a service can lawfully be limited, Kovus limits it to supplying the service again or paying the reasonable cost of having it supplied again.

Ending use and account deletion

You can stop using DishReveal at any time. You can export your local data before using Delete Account. Account deletion removes or unlinks server records and wipes local app data as described in the privacy policy.

Cancellation stops future subscription renewals but does not usually create a refund for the current period. Account deletion and subscription cancellation are separate actions.

Changes to the app or terms

Kovus may update the app and these terms to improve the service, address security issues, reflect provider changes or meet legal requirements. Material changes will be dated on this page. If you do not agree with an updated term, stop using the app and cancel any subscription.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia. Courts with jurisdiction in Western Australia may hear disputes, subject to any mandatory right to bring a claim elsewhere.
